At the heart of what we do here in The Rushing Hour, is to give back to a cause very close to us - One Girl. We have pledged that as long as we sell clothes, we will share a part of that sale to one month education for a girl in Africa. Oftentimes, we neglect how fortunate we are to be born where we are, and to have the privileges we have. Giving back makes us feel so damn good and that's why we do what we do.

Want to know how you can help more girls getting their education this 2017? We share with you below their latest blog post:

-

It’s only February, but there’s a LOT happening at One Girl HQ. This year we’re growing and hoping to provide access to education for more girls than ever before.

But here’s the thing – we can’t do it alone. We need YOU if we’re going to get there.

Here are 6 ways that you can help us this year.

1. Buy your gifts at the One Girl shop!

Is there anything better than a one stop shop for gifts for family, friends and…let’s be real…ourselves? We’ve been filling the One Girl Shop with all new goodies for 2017 including tote bags, cute notebooks, limited edition prints and more! This is officially your invitation to go on a shopping spree and feel good about it – because every dollar goes back into our girl-focused education programs in Sierra Leone and Uganda!

2. Organise a One Girl speaker for your network

Whether it’s a school, community group, business or university we’d love to come say hey. One Girl has an awesome team of speakers around Australia who are ready to blow your mind with stories about what we do and the girls that we work with. Get your peeps together, get in touch with us and get ready to be inspired!

3. Spread the word about girls’ education

Educating girls has a huge impact – for them, for their families, communities and even their country. We know this and you know this – now we need everyone else to jump on board! Help us spread the word by sharing our posts on social media, encouraging your network to follow our blog and just generally start flying the flag for female empowerment and gender equality.

4. Fundraise for One Girl

Need an excuse to sign up to that fun run? Know you have a hidden talent for baking? Ready to take on a personal challenge? Why not fundraise for us?! Every year thousands of people get involved by choosing a challenge and getting their community involved. Read up on what’s possible here.

5. Volunteer with us

If you’re Melbourne based, firstly well done on your choice of city, and secondly, we want to see you around our office! There are always opportunities popping up to help us with organising, packing, sending, etc at One Girl HQ – just keep your eyes on our volunteering page for the latest on who we’re looking for.

6. Become a Member of Graduation

We wouldn’t exist without the committed group of passionate people who give to us regularly to ensure our programs are supported. Become a Member of Graduation and you’ll be helping to keep our scholarship girls in school year on year – supporting them in their education from start, to finish. You’ll get VIP access to group phone calls with our Sierra Leone Program Coordinator and some of the scholarship girls you’ll be helping to support, as well as quarterly updates filled with inspiring stories about how you’re changing lives. Read more and sign up to become a Member here.

7. Support Feel-Good-Fashion.

Here at The Rushing Hour, we make sure that every purchase you make becomes one girl's "dream come true" to receive her education. With every sale, we sponsor one girl's education cost for one month. The funding will be donated to One Girl to help with all the amazing work they are doing in West Africa. (One of the poorest country where girls are less unlikely to be sent to school for education). Find out more about our impact here.
